UWM.com Navigation Menu Redesign
The Problem
The Marketing team wanted to know if there was a more intuitive way to structure all of the items in the UWM.com navigation menu. Stakeholders also wanted to get rid of one of the menu tabs that had been acting like a 'junk drawer' for miscellaneous tools and services.

The main navigation menu on the UWM.com homepage is essentially used by all of our clients on a daily basis.

Approach
-
I conducted a remote closed card sort to learn how clients categorize our menu items in their minds

-
I also conducted moderated usability tests to evaluate the usability and findability of the UX designer's proposed design

Solution
-
Based on my findings I recommended verbiage changes to the menu titles

-
I recommended that several menu items be moved to other categories

-
I suggested adding more visual indicators to the menu links so that clients would know what to expect when they clicked on an item
Conclusion
-
I presented my findings and recommendations as a PowerPoint deck to Marketing stakeholders including the CMO, Marketing VP, and Brand Strategists

-
The CMO loved being able to see actual data from clients to support my proposed design changes

-
All of my recommended changes were approved and implemented
